General Assembly 2016

You will find the documents referred to in the Mission and Discipleship Council's Report to the General Assembly 2016, within this page and via the links on the left hand side which will take you to information already on the Resourcing Mission website.

Local Church Review

In 2014 the Mission and Discipleship Council provided a number of resources to assist Presbyteries with Local Church Review. The Council continues working on Local Church Review, and new resources will be available in the Mission section of the website when they are available. Details of what has been happening with Local Church Review can be found in the Mission and Discipleship Council's report to the General Assembly, section 2.6.3 and in Appendix III.

We are keen to hear feedback from those who have used the materials, and also from those Presbyteries who have developed, or are reviewing their own resources. In the meantime, the current resources continue to be freely available in the Local Church Review section of Resourcing Mission.

The Invisible Church

The General Assembly in 2016 sees the launch of much anticipated book, based on the findings of Steve Aisthorpe's research into 'churchless Christianity' in Scotland.

The book, entitled 'The Invisible Church: Learning from the experiences of churchless Christians' is available from Saint Andrew Press from 30 April. For a preview of the research findings that have underpinned this book, originally in the Highlands and Islands, and later throughout the rest of Scotland, please have a look at some of the previously published articles in our Mission Research pages.
