Pilgrimage

Pilgrim posts by I Campbell

“Affirm the place of pilgrimage within the life of the church and encourage congregations to explore opportunities for pilgrimage locally and how to provide practical and spiritual support for pilgrims passing through the parish.”

“Instruct the Church and Society Council, in partnership with the Mission and Discipleship Council and others to develop resources to support pilgrimage in Scotland.”

General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, 2017

There are a host of definitions and interpretations of pilgrimage.  In her book Cancer, A pilgrim companion, Gillian Straine describes being a pilgrim "not as a means to an end, but a way of travelling with a heightened expectation of drawing closer to God.”

The links below and on the attached document offer signposts to just some of the routes, resources and events that come under this umbrella term to inspire you and your companions to undertake your own pilgrim journey.
