Resourcing the Rural Church

The Rural Working Group of the Church of Scotland has been created to resource and support the 43% of Church of Scotland Parishes that are rural.

After the highly successful Rural Resourcing Roadshows in 2017 the working group will be hitting the road again, distributing their suite of resources aimed at supporting the rural church.

These resources were requested by our members in rural parishes and we use the roadshows to gather guidance on what the pressing needs are and how we can help.

The free roadshows are for those interested in, or involved in, rural ministry – ministers and non ministers.

 

Roadshows will be held at the following venues:

Wednesday 22 August:    Kirkwall

Tuesday 28 August:         Braemar

Thursday 6 September:   Skelmorlie

Thursday 13 September:  Luce Valley

Saturday 15 September:  Longniddry

Saturday 22 September:  Carinish, Isle of North Uist

 

Programme for each workshop:

1030 - 1100          Welcome, Worship, Introduction

1100 - 1200          Rural Resources including governance streamlining, digital and audio visual resources

1215 - 1245          Networking and Building a Rural Forum

1245 - 1330          Lunch - provided free of charge (but donations towards the cost will be gratefully received)

1330 - 1430          How we can help each other, wider resources available, sharing best practice, hints and tips

1430 - 1515          Consultation and discussion

1515 – 1530         Closing worship
